Kathmandu . A section of the Ring Road along Lalitpur Metropolis-14 these days offers an enchanting sight of the blooming jacaranda trees that line up along it. The place is vibrant with shades of lavender, capturing the attention of passersby.
Pedestrians particularly the younger generation are found seizing the opportunity to take selfies, photos, and videos against the stunning floral backdrop. Lalitpur Metropolis-14 Ward Chair Amrit Mahat expressed his delight, stating that it's heartwarming to see people enjoying the scenic beauty offered by the flowers. The history of jacaranda flowers here dates back to the Rana period as it is believed that Rana rulers had first time brought this flower to Kathmandu. Some of the trees along the Chakrapath circuit have matured, while others are freshly blooming. The local government takes steps to preserve these flowers, as well as other plants along the section. The trees also offer much-needed shade to passersby, providing relief from the heat. Nirmal Lama, who was seen observing the flowers, said it feels refreshing to enjoy the beauty of the blossoms.
